ESPT
Letter from the President
On 2nd October 2010, during the round table of the 5th Santorini Conference (Pharmacogenomics 2011,12(5): 597-610), it was proposed to create at the European level a society for pharmacogenomics.
The European society was created in Alexandroupoulis. Two board meetings, one in Amsterdam and one in Bled have completed the structure. A successful founding meeting and a general assembly were our first activities in Bled.
Our mission and a strategic plan have been proposed which you could find on this website.
Three courses have been organized in 2011: Nancy, Alexandroupoulis and Badajoz. Our education committee is preparing new courses in 2012. We will also create some subcommittees for clinical implementation.
ESPT have been present or will be in 2011 at the following meetings:
- Pharmacogenomics and Personnalised Medecine 2011 Hinxton, 29 September-2 October 2011
- IATDMCT Congress - Stuttgart, 2-6 October
- ESF Meeting – Den Haag, 12-14 October

- Personalized Medicine in Europe – What will it take to succeed? EPEMED Conference - Luxemburg, 8 December

In 2012, we expect to organize a joint session at the Arabmedlab meeting in Marrakech (2-5 May) and after to have our second general assembly with elections in Santorini.
We hope that you will join ESPT and participate to the different activities for developing and facilitating clinical implementation of pharmacogenomics and theranostics.
